Conservatory and Studio Instructor
Emily Bischoff – Alvarez grew up in Friendswood, TX and moved to Houston, TX in high school to attend the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. After high school, with both a Talent and Presidential Scholarship, Emily attended Point Park University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2009. While at Point Park University, Emily had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Lauri Stallings, Whitney Moncrief, Doug Bentz, Peter Mertz, Judith Liefer, and Diane Gray. She has also had the pleasure of attending the Lou Conte Dance Studio, the studio that houses Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, for two summers as a scholarship student. While attending the Lou Conte Dance studio she studied under Claire Battile, Eddie O’Campo, Nick Pupillo, Birute Barodicaite, Jeff Hancock, and Molly Shanahan. At LDC she also learned works such as Minus 16, Love songs, and Rassemblement. Professionally, Emily has worked under Sofia Torres and Sonia Noriega in Psophonia Dance Company, Jhon Stronks for There in the Sunlight, Amy Elizabeth with Rednerrus Feil Dance Company, and has performed works with independent artist Laura Gutierrez.
This is Emily’s second season with TopFlight Dance Center and she is is excited to take on another season as the Assistant to the Academy as well as her new roll as the Director of the TopFlight Dance Company Too’s. It has been, and will continue to be, her goal to provide every student with the very best training and to push her students to become the best dancers they can be.
